From birth trauma through the realization of the magnitude of responsibility that comes from caring for a little one, feelings of isolation, anxiety, lack of confidence and fear of making mistakes can overwhelm even the most competent person. These emotions coupled with lack of sleep and exhaustion sometimes gives way to post partum anxiety and depression.
Siblings that have voiced excitement at the thought of a new brother or sister, may act out in unexpected ways once the new baby arrives. Parents are often torn between caring for the newborn and giving older siblings the attention they crave.

New parent sessions can be individual or as a couple, where new parents have a safe place and time dedicated to discussing their approaches to and roles in childcare. Distinct time is devoted to nurturing the couple relationship, which when in the throes of parenting, may have been necessarily placed on the back burner.
